OHV Grant 2018 Public Review/Comments


​Notice of Public Meeting for OHMVR Division Grant Applications 
2017/2018 Grant Cycle

California City Police Department and California City Fire Department will hold a public meeting February 10, 2018 relating to submitting applications for OHV Cooperative Funds for the upcoming 2017/2018 grant cycle. CCPD/CCFD is developing applications to the Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division which includes: “a strong emphasis on route maintenance and repair, law enforcement across the OHV Recreation area as well as in the populated area of California City regarding off-highway vehicle use, printing and distribution of educational materials, planning, safety, and education.” The meeting will be held from 11am – 1pm at Borax Bill Park, 16363 Twenty Mule Team Parkway, California City, CA 93505. 
The departments state that previously awarded grants have helped address route repair, additional law enforcement and other planning and development regarding OHV needs. Safety and education have also been emphasized by both departments. 
 Preliminary grant applications will be available on the OHMVR website from March 6, 2018 - April 2, 2018 for review and comment. Those comments may be submitted to the California City Police Department by e-mailing Karen Sanders at ksanders@californiacitypd.org and cc’ing the OHMVR Division at ohvinfo@parks.ca.gov. City of California City Police and Fire Departments invite the public to comment on the preliminary grant applications to the California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle (OHMVR) Division to help manage off-highway vehicle recreation opportunities in California City.
This year’s grant applications include funding requested for maintenance, law enforcement and safety projects.
The preliminary application is available on the OHMVR Division’s Website at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov for review and comment from Tuesday March 6, 2018 to April 2, 2018. The division’s website provides detailed instructions for accessing the preliminary application submitting comments. Applicant names are found in the General Application Requirements under item 3.
The OLGA (Online Grants Application) database allows the public to read preliminary applications in a centralized location and the Grants and Cooperative program allows for a thirty-day public review and comment period.
March 6, 2018 to April 2, 2018 time frame allows for public comments.
